Welcome
Day of German Unity in Salone
On the 3rd of October 2020 Germany celebrates 30 years of national unity. East and West Germany reunited, less than a year after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. For Germans and Friends of Germany in Sierra Leone this is an important moment to commemorate.
Owing to the circumstances of the pandemic, our customary buffet dinner reception will this year be replaced by funding for a UN Women project to provide livelihood relief for 300 households headed by women in Pujehun, and strengthening their capacity to better cope with the impact of the pandemic. Here, you find more details on this activity as well as information on the Day of National Unity, in Germany and in Sierra Leone.
Listen to the German and the Sierra Leonean National anthems, as well as a creative medley of the two, interpreted by the 5 Star Brass Band courtesy of the Ballanta Academy of Music.
The Ambassador's message is available below and on twitter @GERinSalone (you find this twitter-account embedded below)
